Important memo re the Gleneagle Patriot Golf Tournament
To Gleneagle Sertoma Membership
We are fast approaching our 18th Annual Patriot Golf tournament. As you all know, Gleneagle Sertoma hosts this tournament to remember 9/11 and in support of our Military and First Responders. Last year, we dedicated our tournament to the memory of Micah Flick and other local law enforcement members injured in the line of duty. Our tournament raised over $23.5K of which $16.5K was donated to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Foundation. I might add that this effort was extensively reported on by local media resulting in significant recognition for our club and Sertoma in general. This year we’re teamed with the Colorado Spring Police Protective Association Fallen Officer Relief Fund, and the Sheriff’s Foundation to raise funds for injured officers as well as provide support for the Home Front Cares and other local charities.
Our tournament supports local military and first responders by providing them with a day of relaxing golf and recognition as well as direct contributions to charities supporting our local military and first responders. This year, almost 40 military and first responder players will be participating complimentary of Gleneagle Sertoma. This is a unique aspect of our tournament. Not only do we raise money to support charities, but we also fund participation of those we’re recognizing. We need your help to support those Patriots that are playing on us.
Donations in increments of $20 are needed to support our raffle and fund golf ball purchases. This is a commitment to our Golf Tournament similar to cork pull donations to Spirits of Spring. Each Golfer costs our club ~$130. Please consider funding a Golfer or a portion of a Golfer. We will be routing a commitment sheet at our next few meetings for your consideration or you can donate online. For online donations go to our golf web site (Gleneaglepatriotgolf.com) and select Patriot Donation. You can donate in increments of $1 up to $999.
